The cultural organization “Associazione Tradizionale Pietas”, having seat in Crotone (Italy) and other three branches in Rome, Lucca (Italy) and Athens (Greece). It is a non-profit cultural organization whose main aim is the promotion, diffusion and revaluation of the ancient traditions with particular regard to the Roman and Greek ages. In particular the association wants to widen and spread the knowledge about various aspects of the ancient culture: anthropology, politics, administration, army, legislation, religion, music, gastronomy, philosophy, architecture, socialization, performances and all that has strongly influenced, directly or indirectly, the western culture (see art. 1, subsection a] of the statute).

The association wants to achieve its aims through the promotion of cultural activities (conventions, conferences, researches, debates, seminars, exhibitions, training and refresher activities) and periodical publishings, also including the net data transmission (see art. 1, subsection c] of the statute). The association was born from the spirit of some passionates of the Roman tradition, including its historical, archeological, legal, economical and philosophical aspects, but it subsequently became rich with members and collaborators of different nationalities and professions (archeologists, epigraphists, historians, art critics, painters, sculptors, linguists, naturalists, jurists, economists and doctors) who want to represent the greatest aspects of the ancient traditions in the context of the modern society, in order to revalue the precious heritage of our ancestors, the foundation of the European culture, from the point of view of a modern maturity.

“Pietas” is the feeling of duty (as it is indicated in Latin dictionaries), proper love for one’s parents, children, relatives, friends, the pure sense of justice for men and Gods, that is for all the religious ideas, including tolerance and respect for everybody.

The web site of A.T.P will help the association to promote its cultural activities (included in the program), while creating at the same time a data bank of information about all the cultural events (conventions, seminars, exhibitions, historical and artistic activities), which are in progress or planned for the future all around the world, with correspondences from Italy, Greece, France, England, United States and China.
